I have been playing a ton of Palworld and I’ve recently discovered bosses and locations that I’ve completely overlooked for I don’t know how long. At this point, I am shocked because I thought I’d found everything new, but apparently, I don’t explore enough out on the water. The reason these discoveries came about? I finally got the fishing magnet!

Leveling takes such a long time these days, but I was determined to unlock another fishing tool so I could start crafting higher level materials. As I was wandering the oceans, I stumbled across two new islands. They’re just like the other islands I’ve uncovered, but they’ve got different pals on them. When I found the first one, I was shocked. But to find a second? I had no idea I had been overlooking these for months! To be fair, they’re further out than I usually go and since there hasn’t been things there historically, there was never a reason to wander out. Silly me.

I thought that was shocking until one night, I noticed something big and glowing in the distance. I was preeetttyyy sure I hadn’t seen it before, but I couldn’t tell if it was in or out of bounds. So, I blasted off towards it to find a giant piece of ice floating in the middle of the ocean. And you know what it was? A freaking boss! AND… there is not one, but TWO of these locations on the map. W T F. How long have these pals been here and I’ve just never noticed they were there? Again, these are in locations you can’t readily see from the shore, but what!?

AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE? There’s ANOTHER OIL RIG! This whole time I thought there was nothing new off the coast of the latest island. There was some PIDF officer talking about an oil rig, but I literally couldn’t see it. One time, I tried flying out to find it and went pretty far before I turned back. No silhouette or sign of it… but that’s because it was EVEN further out than I thought it would be. Like you can see them from the shore in the other two locations. Look behind this man. There’s nothing! Do I see that huge structure?? DO YOU!?

I ended up stumbling upon it in my magnet fishing adventures and literally said what the fuck when it started to come into my line of sight. This rig is level 60 and while I did go to it a couple of times, I got completely wrecked. So, I looked it up, and apparently this is a very tanky location intended for multiplayer raids. Not for ding dong solo players like me. From what I read, the rewards aren’t much better, at least, not enough to justify the massive resource cost. So, I’m glad I found it, but I doubt I’ll venture back.

So, aside from that, I’ve been running expeditions pretty regularly to get spheres and materials. To make them more successful, I’ve been capturing more boss pals and I’ve got a pretty solid amount of strong guys to work with. Because of that, I thought maybe I should try one of the summoning alters. There’s these runes you can get to summon powerful pals to fight and if you win, you can claim that pal through an egg. So, I tried first with a level 30 stone and it actually went really well. Jetragon and I took it on by ourselves with relatively no issues.

I fought this boss a couple of times and thought, well if that was so easy, I’m sure I could do a higher level one! But just to be safe, let me stack 20 super strong pals at this location to help me take on the boss. I thought it’d be fine. You know what happened? We got absolutely decimated. He murdered so many of my pals and every time I’d try to take out more, he’s instantly kill them too. We actually got really close to taking him down, but I just ran out of time. So I’m catching more beef cakes to try the fight with again later.

In the meantime, I’m just out in these streets collecting materials so I can finish research at my base, stocking up on as many high quality resources as possible and just trying to unlock better gear. If I can’t beat these higher level summoning stones, I’ll just go pick on someone smaller than me to feel better about myself.

And side note, I’ve discovered I can sleep in pal beds. And if I sleep in a pal bed with a pal in it, it can get a little weird looking. It is oddly cute though.

Anyway, I also played the Little Nightmares 3 demo and I’m super excited for it. I’m kind of playing Borderlands 4. I’m also racing against the clock to hit level 50 in Pokemon Go before the big update on October 15. I will write about that journey soon… hopefully with some good news!
